Childcare

• Before school club: Monday-Friday term time only. It runs from 8.00 a.m. to 8.45 a.m. and costs £2.50 a day.

• An after school provision is available courtesy of Fordfield Nursery. Children are collected from school and taken to the Nursery to join their after school club. It runs from 3.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. and the current cost is £8.50 a day.

• Child care is provided by a number of registered childminders. Contact details for them are available from the school office.

• The nearest school based child care is at Church End Lower School in Marston Moretaine.

• Children start in our nursery (afternoons Mon-Fri term time) in the term after their third birthday.

Parenting support

• Our Parent Support Assistant is in school each Thursday morning in term-time if parents need advice on any matter of concern to them or their children.

• In collaboration with Spark Family Learning, we run \\\\\\\'Keeping up with the children\\\\\\\' courses. Recently they have covered literacy and numeracy. They take place during the school day or in the evening depending on demand.

• There is a local mums and toddlers group that meets in the Village Hall every Monday morning.

• Parents\' ICT Course - ICT Basic Skills runs every Wednesday Morning at the School from 9.15 - 11.15am

Lessons+

• Sport. We work very closely with the Redborne Sports Partnership to provide extra PE and school sport opportunities. Further extra-curricular opportunities are run by independent providers during the lunch hour or after school. Parents run the football club that takes place on Saturday mornings. Parents run after-school swimming sessions in the school's heated outdoor pool during the summer and autumn terms, weather permitting.

• Art Club takes place each term as an after-school activity and is open to children in Years 3 and 4.

• Children from Year 2 onwards are offered instrumental tuition by tutors from Bedfordshire Music.

• Visits and special events take place throughout the year to extend the children's work in a variety of subjects and to bring the learning to life.

Holiday activities

• Pupils can use the pool during the summer holidays. A sign at the school gates indicates whether the pool will be open or not.

• The school sometimes hosts holiday clubs run by independent providers, by members of local church groups and by the local authority. Parents are given details of these events well in advance.
